On Thursday, Donald Trump pulled the U.S. out of the Paris Accord, the historic climate worldwide climate control agreement former President Obama helped craft. Trump, being the moron he is, decided we needed to “make America great again” by telling science and our allies to fuck off–against the advice of his closest advisers, like his daughter Ivanka. During his announcement, he said:
It is time to put Youngstown, Ohio, Detroit, Mich., and Pittsburgh, Pa., along with many, many other locations within our great country before Paris, France. It is time to make America great again.
That literally makes no sense, but that’s typical of this president. According to The Washington Post, one of the biggest reasons for his decision to screw the planet, was his intense hatred for the European allies he feels have spent their time laughing at him:
Pressure from leaders abroad also backfired. One senior White House official characterized disappointing European allies as “a secondary benefit” of Trump’s decision to withdraw.
That statement says it all. The president of the United States is a petty child who puts his personal vendettas before the good of the country.
During his speech in the Rose Garden, Tump claimed that he was going to renegotiate the deal, but that isn’t going to happen. In a joint statement, the leaders of Italy, France and Germany said:
We deem the momentum generated in Paris in December 2015 irreversible and we firmly believe that the Paris Agreement cannot be renegotiated, since it is a vital instrument for our planet, societies and economies.
Well, there goes that Trump fantasy. Our moron-in-chief doesn’t seem to understand how difficult it is to get almost 200 countries to agree to one deal; there is no way in hell they are going to agree to another one just because President Tiny Fingers wants to fuck everyone over. President Obama joined our European allies in condemning Trump, saying:
The nations that remain in the Paris Agreement will be the nations that reap the benefits in jobs and industries created,” he said in a statement. “I believe the United States of America should be at the front of the pack. But even in the absence of American leadership; even as this Administration joins a small handful of nations that reject the future; I’m confident that our states, cities, and businesses will step up and do even more to lead the way, and help protect for future generations the one planet we’ve got.
Can we have him back? Please.
So, you may be asking yourselves,”what exactly does this mean for America?” Well, it means that the U.S. is still able to participate in the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and can still participate in upcoming U.N.-sponsored climate discussions. But our standing on the international stage has greatly diminished and by pulling out, Trump left a vacuum, one that will be likely be filled by China. States like California and New York will still pursue their own programs to cut back on emissions from power plants and cars. But, under the current administration, we’ll be doing far less than we could.
As for what will happen at home, states like California and New York will still pursue their own programs to cut back on emissions from power plants and cars. Corporations have said they will also continue to pursue green energy. However, the Trump administration has said that they are looking into eliminating the subsidies we provide to companies that produce solar and wind energy--while still handing millions to fossil fuel companies. Seems legit.

Absolutely nothing good will come from Trump’s ill-informed decision. Annie Leonard, Greenpeace USA’s executive director, summed it up best when she said:
This is disgraceful. By withdrawing from the Paris Climate Agreement, the Trump administration has turned America from a global climate leader into a global climate deadbeat.
