Sarah Palin has never been known for her outstanding intelligence. In fact, she reminds me of the know-it-all aunt who surprisingly says something somewhat intelligent, and then in the same breath says she’s praying for you because “prayer works.” To me, that’s Sarah Palin in a nutshell. She’s smart enough to know she’s smarter than most of her supporters, but that isn’t saying much. I hate-follow her on Twitter because you just can’t trust people like that.
Today, she tweeted a link to an article on her shitty website. I was expecting another book recommendation – her taste in books are as horrible as the woman – but I was so wrong. Instead, it’s an article stating that it’s good that 50 people were shot in Chicago over the Memorial Day weekend. I am not shitting you. The title is 50 SHOT In Chicago Over The Weekend, But Here’s Why It’s (Sadly) Good News. I think she and her writer have both lost their idiot minds. It’s good that any number of people died? Really?
Quoting USA Today, the article shared the following piece of information:
The grim tally of 49 shot over Memorial Day weekend, historically one of the most violent times of the year here, is oddly the latest sign the city may be turning a corner in the fight against gun violence.
Five people were killed and 44 wounded in shootings between Friday evening and Monday night, an improvement over last year’s total of 7 killed and 61 injured.
Wow. A whole 18 less people were shot, two less died. Even five people shot and killed are still too damn much. The article goes on to say,
As of Tuesday morning, Chicago has recorded 235 murders so far this year, compared to 244 for the same time period in 2016. Shooting incidents have dropped more significantly to 1,047 compared to 1,222 last year, according to police department data.
The article then continues to discuss the drop in murder in Chicago’s “most violent” sections. You know, the black sections. Her writer couldn’t actually come out and say that, but you know that is part of their rhetoric. This article is supposedly touting the police force’s success in finding new ways to curb gun violence, but it’s very clear that this is propaganda to show people that those living in the poorer sections (*ahem*, blacks and Latinos) are inherently more violent than people like, well, Sarah.
I have an awful feeling that she will credit these numbers to Trump being in office because that’s what Trump followers do. I honestly kind of hope she tries so I can hit her upside her empty head with Trump’s NRA speech. Any gun violence is not good news and her writer can shove his assertions – and sneaky racism – right up his ass.
