Two students are suspended from an Albuquerque, New Mexico area high school after photoshopping a picture of a black classmate surrounded by KKK hoods in a classroom on Snapchat. The little fuckers posted it to the school’s OFFICIAL Snapchat group and it was seen by several people before it was finally reported and taken down.
The target’s mother stated that she and her husband have been fighting against racism at that school for three years, and nothing has been done until this picture was posted. She told the local news station,
It was awful. It was frightening. I just really got sick to my stomach. I was afraid for my daughters and for the other children there that are at risk for these types of threats. And now [my daughters] say they can’t go back. And we can’t afford to send our daughters to private school, so what options do they have? They finally have broken my girls. So what do we do?
The students who posted it didn’t think that it was a threat. They said they posted the photo as a “joke”. What part of this is in any way funny?? ANY black student should interpret this nonsense as a threat – the KKK doesn’t march for shits and giggles. And it isn’t shit and giggles when three high school girls can’t go to school without being the victims of racism – FOR THREE YEARS. What, exactly, DO they do? I know I wouldn’t want my daughters going back there.

Albuquerque Public Schools said there was an immediate investigation, and the two students who posted the picture have been suspended for 10 days. One of the students has also been kicked off the football team. The Superintendent says that the police are now involved and the school district is considering pressing charges for hate crimes. We only hope that the students are already 18 so this stays on their permanent records.
