Trump arrived in Washington promising to “drain the swamp.” So it shouldn’t surprise anyone that Trump did drain the swamp — right into his cabinet, where he’s established one of the most connected and corrupt administrations in American history.
Let’s be clear here, the Republicans own this. Those who voted for Trump and don’t show any remorse at their poor decision own this. This corruption is all theirs.

And today, we got yet another demonstration as to just how corrupt this administration is:
In June, Zinke and his staffers took a four-hour flight from Las Vegas to Kalispell, Mont., aboard a private plane owned by the executives of a Wyoming oil-and-gas exploration firm, aviation and business records show.
As the Secretary of the Interior, it’s Zinke’s job to regulate oil and gas companies like the one he accepted the flight from.
Of course, this flight wasn’t free — in fact, it cost the taxpayers $12,375. Granted, that wasn’t half as much what Mnuchin cost the taxpayers, but I shouldn’t have to remind you that Mnuchin is also an administration official. Likewise, it’s probably on par with EPA administrator Scott Pruitt — and the less said about the $400,000 that Tom Price racked up, the better.
Zinke insists that the ethics board approved it, but you have to wonder what ethics board wouldn’t at least raise an eyebrow at a man accepting a flight from an oil company that he’s supposed to be regulating.
News of this spending comes after months of news that the Secret Service is running out of money, that Trump profits from foreign dignitaries staying at his overpriced hotels, that he charges the Secret Service for golf carts they rent out during his numerous golfing excursions, and that he hands out ethics waivers so former industry officials can oversee the industries that paid them.
Then there’s news that earlier this month, the U.S. Office of Government Ethics, “quietly reversed its own internal policy prohibiting anonymous donations from lobbyists to White House staffers who have legal defense funds.” Lobbyists giving secret money to officials is always a good thing, after all.
And that’s all just the tip of the corruption this maggot-oozing head wound of an administration can manage. There are banana republics with higher ethical standards than the Trump Administration.
Trump will make history, alright. He’ll be remembered for running the greatest morally bankrupt administration in U.S. history.
