On Friday morning, we detailed the reason why evangelical Christianity has become so toxic in America, and Jeb Bush decides to prove our point as Raw Story reported:
In a sit-down interview with the Christian Broadcasting Network on Saturday, potential GOP presidential nominee Jeb Bush explained that a “tolerant country” should make room for “people of faith” to discriminate against others.
Speaking with host David Brody, the former Florida governor said, “It’s not just that people of faith can have their views, it’s that they need the space to act on their conscience. That is what faith is about.”
Although he later said the best of religious faith is when people help each other, but it seems that many of today’s “Christians” are more concerned with keeping their feet on the throats of those they just don’t approve of. Bush went on to counter that statement by saying that people should be allowed to deny services to others based upon religious beliefs.
Apply the Muslim test to this situation, and see just how fast they hypocritically reverse themselves. Imagine a Muslim baker refused to make a cake for a Jewish wedding. Fox News would be on the warpath for months and we all know it.
To illustrate his so called point, Jeb(!) brought up Barronelle Stutzman of Arlene’s Flowers in Washington. His reasoning was:
“A big country, a tolerant country ought to be able to figure out the difference between discriminating against someone because of their sexual orientation, and not forcing someone to participate in a wedding that they find goes against their moral beliefs.”
That is the biggest load of bullshit right there! Providing floral arrangements for a wedding is not active participation in a wedding. An active participation would mean being part of the wedding party itself, as in Bridesmaid, Bride, Groomsmen, Groom, Pastor, family member, et cetera. Check out the video and decide for yourself:
