Ammosexual Trumpster Threatens Muslim Ban Protesters With Assault Rifle

Portland police arrested a man for waving a replica firearm at protesters yesterday and recovered a military-style assault rifle.

Sergey Antonov, a 20 year-old resident of Battle Ground, Washington, was the passenger in a large pickup truck with a Donald Trump campaign flag displayed in the bed and “an AR-15 style” weapon in the back seat.

Demonstrators had gathered at Terry Schrunk Plaza in downtown Portland to protest President Trump’s executive order banning Muslim immigrants from seven countries. Antonov allegedly brandished the replica gun as the truck circled the Plaza.

Booked on charges of second degree disorderly conduct, Antonov was scheduled to be arraigned this afternoon, according to the Portland Mercury. The pickup truck driver was not charged with a crime, but his “AR-15 style rifle” was temporarily “taken for safekeeping.”

The incident began just after 12:30 local time. After citizens informed police, officers pulled the truck over at Southwest 4th Avenue and Salmon Street. Local reporters were on hand to capture images and video.

At Bearing Arms, a right wing pro-gun website, Bob Owens complains that the incident “nails every cliche.”

“I have to confess that I’m a little disappointed that Sergey wasn’t wearing a red ‘Make America Great Again’ hat when he was taken into custody to make this living parody of a Trump supporter complete,” Owens admits.

But Sergey Antonov’s actions are no laughing matter. His arrest occurred the morning after Canadian white nationalist Trump fan Alexandre Bissonnette murdered six Muslims at prayer in a Quebec mosque.

That incident has led Conservative MPs to call for a ratcheting-down of irresponsible rhetoric.

In the United States, however, Republicans have long lacked the courage to call out or confront deplorable elements of their reactionary base. Donald Trump won in part by his open appeal to these voters. We should not be surprised when the most ardent of them act out.
